Necrotic ring spot is a troublesome lawn disease caused by a parasitic form of plant life called fungi. Fungi live in the soil, thatch, and dead leaves all year round and spread their spores by wind, water, and mowing. The result of necrotic ring spot disease is known as “frog-eye,” characterized by blades of grass yellowing and dying from the tip down.
